What makes a BSL gas mixer so useful?
From on-site welding and cutting to high-flow, low-pressure applications and robotic welding, the list of where gas mixers can be used in an industrial setting is almost infinite, but here are a few key applications:
In gas metal arc welding (GMAW/MIG), gas mixers can be used to blend argon (Ar) with carbon dioxide (CO₂) or oxygen (O₂) for improved arc stability, penetration and weld appearance.
In flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), argon (Ar) and carbon dioxide (CO₂) mixtures can be used to shield the weld pool and stabilise the arc, enhancing weld properties and reducing spatter.
In plasma arc welding (PAW), gas mixtures with argon (Ar), hydrogen (H₂), or helium (He) can be used to stabilise the arc.
In oxyfuel welding and cutting, gas mixers can be used to blend oxygen (O₂) with acetylene or other fuels for improved flame characteristics.
Gas mixers can be used to create controlled atmospheres for annealing, carburising and nitriding to enhance metal properties in heat treatment applications.
Controlled gas mixtures can be used to maintain the right atmosphere in glass manufacturing furnaces for high-quality glass production.
